For a lot of folks, getting into RC can be super frustrating. And at Parkjets we are all about getting people into the freedom that building your own models can bring, but for the beginner, nothing is more frustrating than building a foam model up over a week or so, getting it ready to go and then crashing it at the field after 5 minutes. We have been there and it stinks.
One solution is to practice on a computer using a flight simulator. But, if you have ever tried to actually buy and use a flight simulator from a hobby or computer store, you already know the major problems: 1) They are expensive; 2) They suck up your computer's capabilities faster than anything else; 3) They require special controllers; 4) they always need updating.
But, there is now an exciting alternative. With advancments in internet browser technology and some pretty simple programming, there is now a simulator that will just get you ready to fly RC airplanes. Now, this isn't the kind of simulator that will let you fly 4,000 different airplanes from all over the world, or experience an engine out situation, or change weather on you in the middle of the flight. Those are all good, but let's be honest, at some point, a lot of simulators turn into nothing more than a video game.
